Paratore Brothers: Music of the 20th Century for Two Pianos ($FREE)
Recorded live in concert at the Carl Orff Saal during the Munich Klaviersommer, the Paratore brothers demonstrate their exemplary skills as a piano duo as they play a programme of music from the modern repertoire. Among the pieces they play are two twentieth-century classics, Stravinsky’s Sacre du printemps and Gershwin’s Concerto in F. They also perform Three Quarter-Tone Piano Pieces composed by Charles Ives for two pianos. Several eminent contemporary composers have written pieces specially for the Paratore Brothers and one such work, William Bolcom’s Sonata for Two Pianos, is featured in this programme.
