In a live recording from the Munich Philharmonic Concert Hall, the Austrian piano virtuoso Friedrich Gulda establishes a sombre, romantic atmosphere. Though the concert hall is vast, with a seating capacity of 2,500, it is dimly lit and Gulda creates an intimate atmosphere.
By means of Gulda's presentation, the public is drawn into a personal relationship with the music as he plays Chopin's Nine Preludes Op.28, the Nocturne No.1 Op.62, Barcarole Op.60 and Berceuse Op.57.
